Norway’s slam hit Slow TV has never left its home country, but it’s hard to understand why.

Their first broadcast in 2009 was a 7.5 hour long train ride from Bergen to Oslo. It turned out to be immensely popular and was watched by two million people – nearly 40 percent of Norway’s population.

After that a lot more shows followed, all of them with exciting names like National Knitting Morning. This particular show features a group of people holding a group discussion for four straight hours, followed by them knitting for 7.5 hours — all while trying to break the world record for knitting a sweater.

These and other amazingly slow shows have long been confined to their home country, but thanks to a deal with Netflix they’re now available to watch in most countries.
