Dubbed Norway’s Angela Merkel, Solberg recently became the first Conservative prime minister to win a second term since 1985. Solberg has melded a conservative fiscal stance with a humanistic point of view that also emphasizes people’s needs. Norway is Europe’s biggest oil producer, and as oil prices have plummeted, she has kept Norway from falling into a recession by spending a record amount of the country’s oil wealth. She’s now planning on cutting taxes to stimulate growth.
