PM Erna Solberg (H) is ranked number 46 in Forbes’ list of the 100 most powerful women in the world. Dubbed Norway’s Angela Merkel, Solberg recently became the first Conservative prime minister to win a second term since 1985. Solberg has melded a conservative fiscal stance with a humanistic point of view that also emphasizes people’s needs. Norway is Europe’s biggest oil producer, and as oil prices have plummeted, she has kept Norway from falling into a recession by spending a record amount of the country’s oil wealth. She’s now planning on cutting taxes to stimulate growth.
