Prince Haakon, a Berkeley graduate, also heard a presentation on the recently established Peder Sather Center for Advanced Study, a collaboration of the College of Letters and Science and eight Norwegian academic Institutions that takes its name from a Norwegian who was an early trustee of UC Berkeley and has several campus landmarks named after him.

The Peder Sather Center was founded to strengthen ongoing research collaborations and foster the development of new ones between Berkeley and Norwegian academic institutions.
