The US Ambassador to Norway, Samuel Heins, started his Stavanger trip earlier this week, speaking along with AmCham Norway Director, Jason Turflinger at the evening event entitled USA – News and Business Opportunities. The Ambassador’s keynote speech emphasized on US-Norway priorities and interests, including transatlantic trade and investment.
The Ambassador also met with regional AmCham member companies and headlined the USA- Norway event. Hosted by the Stavanger Chamber of Commerce (Næringsforeningen) and the US Embassy in Norway, the evening focused on bridging strong historical cooperation and new opportunities in trade and investment, academia and research.
The Ambassador – together with Jason Turflinger and Harald Minge of the Stavanger Chamber, all presented with Turflinger focusing on business opportunities and Ambassador Heins’s keynote speech highlighted US-Norway priorities and interests, including transatlantic trade and investment.
In his presentation, Turflinger drew attention to opportunities in aviation, IT and technology as well as seafood exports to the United States. Underlining that nearly 40.000 tons of Norwegian salmon was exported to the US in 2015.
Following presentations, guests enjoyed time to network accompanied by a meal prepared by Norway’s BBQ King and American, Craig Whitson.
