ForgeRock selected Accel Partners after receiving a high level of interest from several of the world’s leading venture capital funds.

“We were looking for investors with a track record of backing companies which subsequently come to define their category.” said Lasse Andresen, ForgeRock Founder and CEO. “In Accel, we believe we have found the right partner to help ForgeRock define the Identity technology category globally. We will use the funds to build further on the market traction and dramatic global growth we have demonstrated over the past 2 years”.

ForgeRock offers a unique, open platform approach to Identity software. The I³ Open Platform offers customers a unified approach for their identity needs including: Authentication, Access Management, User Entitlements, Federation, Identity lifecycle management, provisioning and next generation LDAP identity repository, all scaled and proven in production with multi-million user concurrency whether implemented on in-house, private or public cloud infrastructure. With a functional breadth and depth unparalleled in its sector, ForgeRock differentiates by simplifying every deployment stage, from procurement to production, in order to maximise customer ROI.

Through its enterprise subscriptions, ForgeRock enables Identity throughout organisations of all shapes and sizes, from start-ups to some of the largest Fortune 100 global enterprises. ForgeRock technology already supports mission critical operations for many millions of its customer’s end users. Existing subscription customers include: Thomson Reuters, BSkyB, News International, Nokia Siemens Networks, Betfair, AOL, Toyota, Wirecard, Aberdeen Asset Management, Hellenic Telecom, Allianz Insurance, VPS, Capgemini, Norwegian Rail, Ziggo, DNB, California Dept of Justice, Cielo, Nomura, BNP Paribas, and many US and European government departments at both a state and national level.

“We think identity management is a crucial issue for most businesses as they struggle to deliver appropriate information and application support to employees, partners, and customers via a combination of datacenters, the cloud, PCs, and mobile devices.  We were very impressed by the customer feedback we received about ForgeRock.  Customers and channel partners repeatedly referred to the exceptional breadth, scalability and reliability of ForgeRock’s products as well as the expertise and responsiveness of the management team.  We believe ForgeRock is well positioned to deliver the easiest to deploy and highest performance identity management software suite in the market and is unique in being able to address the needs of the largest global businesses, as well as small to mid-size companies,” said Bruce Golden, Partner, at Accel Partners.
