Lockheed Martin-Built Orion Spacecraft Is Ready For Its Moon Mission

NASA’s Orion spacecraft is ready for its mission to the Moon. Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has completed assembly and testing of the Orion Artemis I spacecraft and has transferred possession to NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) team today. Assembled at Kennedy Space Center, the EGS team will then perform final preparations on the spacecraft for its mission to the Moon later this year.

Ready for the Moon
Orion is NASA’s new human-rated exploration-class spaceship that will take astronauts into deep space including the Moon and Mars. Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor for NASA and built the crew module, crew module adaptor and launch abort system. The European Space Agency provides the European Service Module for Orion.

Forsvaret: Tre nye F-35 til Norge

I kveld, 27. september, landet tre nye F-35 kampfly i Norge. Totalt har Luftforsvaret nå mottatt 28 fly. 

Flyene tok av fra Fort Worth, Texas, i går ettermiddag norsk tid, og landet sent på kvelden norsk tid 18:40.

Luftforsvaret har så langt mottatt 21 fly Norge og 7 fly i USA som brukes til trening. Luftforsvaret er godt i gang med testing og opptrening på Ørland flystasjon og utdanning av personell på Luke Air Force base.

Regjeringen: Betydelig prisreduksjon for våre nye F-35 kampfly de neste årene

En ny avtale mellom det flernasjonale programkontoret for F-35 og flyprodusenten Lockheed Martin medfører at enhetsprisen for de norske F-35 kampflyene går ned med om lag 10 prosent. – Enhetsprisen for F-35 ligger dermed under våre tidligere prognoser. Kostnadsreduserende tiltak, gode forhandlinger og samarbeid i et partnerskap viser nå resultater. Det er veldig positivt og styrker vår tillit til anskaffelsen, sier forsvarsminister Frank Bakke-Jensen.

Oslo Børs NewsWeb: Kongsberg inngår milliardkontrakt med Lockheed Martin

Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS (KONGSBERG) har inngått kontrakt med Lockheed Martin Aeronautics akkumulert til 2 milliarder kroner for levering av deler til F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. NOK 700 millioner av kontrakten er allerede produsert og levert kunde. Det resterende er for leveranser fremover i tid. Avtalen omfatter produksjonspartiene 12-14 for leveranse av halerorsdeler og strukturdeler til flykroppen for alle tre variantene av F-35, totalt mer enn 500 fly.

“Denne kontrakten befester KONGSBERGs sterke og langsiktige posisjon i F-35 programmet. Produksjonen for flyet vil løpe i mange år og sikrer kontinuerlig produksjon ved KONGSBERGs fabrikk, og like viktig, baner vei for ytterligere fremtidige oppdrag», sier Eirik Lie, Administrerende Direktør Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS.

Press Release: AIM Norway, Lockheed Martin To Establish F-16 Sustainment Hub In Norway

OSLO, March 12, 2019 – AIM Norway and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) signed a historic agreement to jointly establish the world’s first Lockheed Martin-licensed F-16 ‘Falcon Depot’ center for the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) and other regional F-16 customers. The facility will be located in Kjeller, Norway, at an existing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility used by the RNoAF.

AIM Norway offers decades of F-16 sustainment knowledge that can benefit F-16 customers across the globe by leveraging AIM’s extensive technical expertise and capabilities. Lockheed Martin, the original equipment manufacturer and design authority of the F-16, is leveraging AIM’s extensive technical expertise and MRO experience to support the Royal Norwegian Air Force, regional customers and the global F-16 fleet.

“Lockheed Martin is extremely proud of our longstanding relationship with AIM Norway and Norway,” said Susan Ouzts, vice president of Lockheed Martin’s F-16 Program. “This first-of-its-kind Falcon Depot Center reflects the strong global demand for F-16 sustainment services, which is poised to grow as we continue to produce new F-16s and upgrade existing aircraft.”

Lockheed Martin continues to grow its F-16 customer base and sees new F-16 production opportunities totaling more than 400 aircraft. There are approximately 3,000 operational F-16s in service today with 25 countries.

AIM Norway is also expanding its footprint and capabilities in Norway. The F-35 Joint Program Office selected Rygge Air Base, Norway, as an F135 engine MRO&U center. The RNoAF currently has nine F-35s in country and Norway’s F-35 fleet is expected to grow to 52 aircraft.
