Readout of President Biden’s Meeting with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store of Norway

President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. met today in Washington with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store of Norway to reaffirm the importance of the U.S.-Norway relationship. The two discussed joint efforts, including through NATO and the OSCE, to address Russia’s destabilizing military buildup along Ukraine’s borders. They also discussed enhancing the U.S.-Norway partnership in tackling a range of challenges, including climate change, ending the COVID-19 pandemic and establishing sustainable health security financing, and humanitarian support for Afghanistan. President Biden thanked the Prime Minister for Norway’s leadership as President of the UN Security Council this month. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan also met separately with Prime Minister Store.

Optimism surging as global energy industry fully-focuses on transition, new DNV research reveals

OSLO, Norway, 23 February 2022 – Energy industry leaders say the energy transition is accelerating faster than ever, and that 2022 is set to be a strong year for industry growth, as set out in a new global report from DNV analysing the views of more than 1,000 senior energy professionals.

ExxonMobil makes first commercial sale of certified circular polymers

IRVING, Texas – ExxonMobil has completed its first commercial sale of certified circular polymers, using its Exxtend™ technology for advanced recycling of plastic waste. The purchaser is Berry Global, a leading provider of innovative packaging and engineered products, which will use the circular polymers to manufacture containers for high-performance food-grade packaging on a mass balance approach.

Decarbonization of shipping – emerging alternative fuels from a US perspective

While the impact of COVID-19 on seafarers and port congestion have grabbed headlines over the past year, no single issue has dominated the maritime industry press more than decarbonization as climate change represents the greatest challenge of this century. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), transportation – including road, rail, air and marine – contribute about 14 percent of the global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Shipping alone transports close to 80 percent of global trade by volume and is estimated to contribute 2-3 per cent of GHG emissions. These numbers are propelling the shipping sector into the decarbonization limelight.

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners receives top rating for engaging with suppliers on climate change

Following the recognition of its leadership in corporate sustainability on CDP’s 2021 ‘A List’ for climate and water, CCEP has also achieved a place on CDP’s Supplier Engagement leaderboard with a top rating.

CCEP has achieved the highest score, an A rating, on CDP’s Supplier Engagement Rating (SER), which measures how effectively companies engage with their suppliers on climate change. Companies with the best ratings are recognised as Supplier Engagement Leaders, of which CCEP is one of the top 8% of companies who disclosed to CDP.
