About Us

The American Chamber of Commerce in Norway (AmCham) is a non-profit business advocacy, services and event organization promoting the interests of 230 US, Norwegian and international member companies. As an independent and member supported association, AmCham receives no governmental subsidies.

One of 117 AmChams globally, AmCham Norway is tasked with advancing transatlantic business on a number of trade, bilateral investment and competitiveness issues.

Your Background & Skills

Fluent in Norwegian, you have practical public-sector experience, exceptional interpersonal skills and strong English language proficiency. With a degree in political science, business or similar, you have an acute understanding of the Norwegian political and commercial landscapes. US-based job experience and/or education is advantageous.

To be successful in this role, you function well autonomously while also managing groups of busy member representatives. You are an inquisitive, focused self-starter, capable of simultaneously developing, methodically overseeing and delivering successful initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

As Member & Government Affairs Consultant, you will be responsible for engaging multiple member groups, facilitating our organization’s policy advocacy initiatives, and contributing to our comprehensive program of events and member services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ongoing professional, proactive member support and new member company recruitment.
  • Meticulously fostering AmCham’s public-sector partnerships on behalf of our international members.
  • Professional content development and publication management (Norwegian & English), including articles, editorials, white papers, and in-depth reports.
  • Meeting and event conceptualization, management and execution with the goal of further reinforcing AmCham’s unique transatlantic business community.
