Policy Areas

Since its origin, AmCham has successfully addressed numerous issues related to the investment and trade climate between Norway and the US.

The Leading Arena for Transatlantic Business Interests

As the leading area for transatlantic business interests, AmCham is focused primarily on event facilitation, member-to-member business assistance, and advocacy initiatives. AmCham strives to derive maximum value from member investment and get the most out companies’ commitment to doing business in Norway and the US.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Norway (AmCham) is an independent business networking, information, and assistance organization promoting the interests of over 250 Norwegian, American, and international member companies.

AmCham Norway receives no subsidy from any governmental body, and we rely on membership dues, sponsorships, and event participation fees to cover our operating expenses.

Taxation issues, legislative processes, education exchange, abrupt policy shifts, and joint communications are also addressed through various ad-hoc AmCham working groups of five or more member companies.

What We Do

Network Building

The best way to build Norwegian-American business relations is by bringing people together. Through our diverse range of events and initiatives, we do exactly that.

Cross-Industry Forums

By bringing together leaders from different industries in our Digitalization, Financial, and Sustainability Forums, we help find common policy issues that bring our members together.

Having dependable information about transatlantic market forces is critical to the success of your organization. Through our print and web-based publications, we'll keep you up to speed.

Issue Advocacy

If it matters to you, it matters to us. We work hand-in-hand with our 250 member companies to make sure the voice of the international community in Norway is heard.

Working Groups

Our working groups aim to identify and highlight shared challenges and opportunities in wide range of industries, acting as important platforms for dialogue and cooperation.

US Government Ties

Washington may be far away, but through our various US Embassy channels, we'll help you engage with the US Government, whether you're in the States or here in Norway.

"In our work to strenghten the ties across the Atlantic further, the Norwegian Government finds a crucial partner in the American Chamber of Commerce in Norway. Together, AmCham and the Norwegian Government are ensuring that the Atlantic does not act as a barrier between our two countries, but rather as a bridge."
