The Norwegian University of Life Sciences’ (NMBU) mission is to create knowledge for life – to contribute to the well-being of the planet and help solve the biggest global challenges of our time by means of interdisciplinary research and education, innovation, communication, national and international cooperation. Through this work, NMBU enables people all over the world to tackle global environmental and sustainable development challenges – improving human and animal health, renewable energy sources, food production, and land and resource management.

Founded in 1859, NMBU offers its 6700 students 64 study programs. Campus Ås houses Norway’s largest interdisciplinary academic environment in the life sciences, and as of 2021, offers world-class facilities for veterinary medicine.
