Cybersecurity in the maritime industry is more important than ever. The use of new technology on vessels, cloud infrastructure and the increasing digitalisation of the industry as a whole creates not only opportunities, but additional risks and vulnerabilities for the entire sector.

Thommessen and the Horizon Initiative, a Norwegian program led by leading government and private sector experts in the field of Information Security, Cyber Threat Emulation and Intelligence, invites you to a breakfast seminar on cybersecurity within the maritime sector. We will review both legal and practical cases and perspectives pertaining to a highly relevant topic for the maritime industry.

The seminar is of interest to everyone seeking to increase awareness about current cyber threats and the regulatory landscape of cyber risk in the maritime sector.   • CHRISTOPHER SPARRE-ENGER CLAUSEN, PARTNER

    Christopher heads Thommessen’s Technology and Data Protection practice group and specialises within M&A, technology and data protection law. He has extensive experience from both domestic and international M&A and IT-projects, and regularly provide clients with legal and strategic advise within a broad range of areas relating to digitalisation and technology, such as data protection, cybersecurity, outsourcing, licensing, cloud computing, software development, as well as IP and regulatory matters pertaining to IT and telecommunications.

    Chris has been at the forefront of the UK’s success in active and defensive cyber operations. Chris spent over 15 years in the UK’s lead cyber intelligence agency. Before leaving the government service, Chris was actively involved in the UK’s national cyber defence programme in identifying and removing hostile state cyber actors from the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure.
