Join us on Tuesday 30 th January for an online S-HUB member session, in partnership with Position Green, during which we will provide some practical tips on how to navigate the requirements of ESRS throughout each key alignment phase.
This session is your opportunity to learn from experts and industry representatives about key challenges and best practices, to move beyond CSRD compliance towards true value creation.
Background: The adoption of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the interlinked European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) entail major changes for Norwegian businesses.
Impacting over 50,000 companies in the EU (including EEA countries such as Norway) and another 10,000 companies in the UK, US and elsewhere, the new rules are creating a new paradigm for sustainability reporting.
With the standards expected to apply from the financial year 2024, companies need to start aligning their reporting and take a closer look at how to properly structure their sustainability information. At the same time, they also need to meet the needs of stakeholders for a concise and clear report.
Ranging from a mandatory double materiality assessment (DMA) to consolidated ESG data in the sustainability statement of a company’s management report, the granular ESRS requirements can seem overwhelming.
However, building on preexisting frameworks such as GRI and TCFD, the new standards do bring with them some degree of familiarity and much-needed alignment on ESG reporting.
