The Oslo Way: Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS)
Emissions from the waste incineration plant at Klemetsrud currently account for 20% of Oslo’s fossil CO2 emissions. Now, a CCS plant is being built, which is expected to be completed in 2029. Hafslund Celsio’s CCS-project is part of Norway’s CCS initiative, Longship, aiming to demonstrate a full value chain from CO2-capture to permanent storage. Hafslund aims to build a profitable value chain value chain for CCS on waste incineration, and Oslo for CCUS.
