As one of our joint New York roundtable leaders put it recently, the transatlantic economy today feels a bit like a snow globe – shaken, shifting, and dynamic. Within the uncertainty are immense opportunities for those prepared to engage boldly and strategically.

While US markets remain remarkably strong, geopolitical and macroeconomic fragmentation are reshaping trade patterns. Deeply seated administration views of the US as the international insurer of global trade – and an accompanying recalibration of the premiums it expects from its partners – are playing out almost daily.

Despite this more transactional environment, US-Norway ties remain deep and productive. Norway continues to play a major investment role in the US, not only in commercial ventures but also in areas vital to national security and resilient value chains. US-Norway partnerships are delivering real mutual gains – from retooling energy systems to greatly expanding AI capacity. US innovation and scaling ability combined with Norway’s world-class technical and sustainability expertise remains a match made in heaven.

As we navigate this new era together, it is vital that we harness uncertainty as a catalyst for advancement, not an excuse for retreat. AmCham will continue to work closely with our expanding member and partner base, actively contributing to the future of US-Norway commerce and cooperation.
