ExxonMobil has been present in Norway since 1893 and opened the first modern refinery at Slagen, close to Tønsberg, in 1961. The refinery was converted into a fuels import terminal in mid-2021. The company’s headquarters is now located at the Slagen terminal. The company also operates fuel terminals in Bergen, Trondheim and Fredrikstad. ExxonMobil’s interests in Norway also include the supply of Esso-branded fuels to Certas Energi through their network of more than 250 retail sites as well as Mobil-branded lubricants through several distributors. ExxonMobil was awarded the first offshore License (PL001) in Norway in 1965, but the company sold all its upstream assets on the Norwegian Continental shelf in 2017 and 2019. http://corporate.exxonmobil.com/ |
