The Art of Framing Sustainability

Words matter. Words have the power to change the direction of society. However, some words when over-used or misused turn into buzzwords. Such has been the fate of the word sustainability.

This is because the concept of sustainability is ambiguous, there are different purposes of measurement and not the least there is confusion over terminology and methods.

Companies today want to be sustainable and the vast majority of the Norwegian public not only expect companies to be more sustainable, but they are also willing to pay more for sustainable products.

However, companies struggle with sustainability: how to become more sustainable, how to measure their progress toward sustainability, and how to incorporate their sustainability efforts into their product and corporate brand building.

This seminar showcases companies and organizations that are leading the way on integrating sustainability and climate action into their business strategy. It also highlights recent research from KPMG, Sustainability Hub and Luntz Global on what communication strategies are effective for gaining support for sustainability and climate change.
