AmCham, together with the US Embassy and the Norwegian Atlantic Committee, co-hosted a reception in honor of Norwegian–American Parliamentary Exchange Program (NAPEP) participants, who arrived Norway on Sunday as part of this 20-year diplomatic exchange tradition.

NAPEP was established in 1997 and provides a unique exchange opportunity for US Members of Congress and their staff to meet high-level representatives from Norwegian ministries and Members of Parliament. More than 50 Members of Congress, as well as numerous staff members, have visited Norway as part of this program.

In 2018, participants will meet with ranking representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and Parliament in Oslo. The trip also takes participants on a journey north of the Arctic circle to visit Tromsø, Bodø and the archipelago of Svalbard.

Program elements include a visit to the Norwegian Joint Headquarters, the Norwegian Armed Forces operational command center, as well as the Norwegian Polar Institute, Norway’s central research institution on climate change.

US Congressional Participants
