As majority of Minot residents are of Scandinavian ancestry, our “Magic City” greatly values the shared heritage and culture between Minot and the Scandinavian countries- Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
Minot is home to the North America’s largest Scandinavian-American festival, the Norsk Hostfest. This annual event celebrates Nordic heritage through authentic Scandinavian culture on display, handcrafted Norsk merchandise, Scandinavian educational programs, and much more.
In recent years, the Minot Area Development Corporation (MADC) has been responsible for the business-side of the Scandinavian partnership. MADC, Minot State University, the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Norsk Hostfest collaborate each year to host the “Bridging the Atlantic” Business to Business Seminar. This event specifically focuses on business commonalities and opportunities between Minot and Telemark County, Norway.
The B2B Seminar will take place on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Grand Hotel. Stay tune for more information!
